After missing out on Aaron Judge, the San Francisco Giants are shifting their focus to the shortstop market, according to Bob Nightengale.

The New York Yankees managed to keep their slugger and MVP, signing him to a nine-year, $360 million contract.

But that doesn’t mean that the Giants are done looking for ways to boost their chances of contention in 2023.

Giants insider Susan Slusser appeared on MLB Network this afternoon and discussed potential next steps for the team.

While on the air, Slusser made a bold declaration, saying that after missing out on the American League MVP, the Giants must make a splash and that they need to sign Carlos Correa.

Could The Giants Sign Correa?

This is a bold statement, but Slusser isn’t wrong.

The Giants came into this offseason with every intention of signing the AL MVP.

Ultimately, it did not work out.

But with several stars still available on the free agent market, the Giants still have an opportunity to make a splash.

Correa may be the best free agent left on the market with Judge now off the board.

President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi appears ready to spend money and add some key pieces in hopes of returning the Giants to where they were in 2021, winners of 107 games and their first NL West title since 2012.

San Francisco has already signed Mitch Haniger to a three-year-deal, proving their desire to improve the team in 2023.

Correa could be the perfect fit in San Francisco and may be exactly what the Giants need in order to bounce back into contention.
