The Houston Astros have missed out on adding to their rotation in a significant way as the San Francisco have made a move to add a new ace on the roster.

After a few days of rumors, the Giants have finally added two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell to the rotation.

San Francisco and Snell agreed to a two-year, $62 million deal, according to multiple reports

This deal looks very similar to ones that Scott Boras clients have signed all season - a bridge deal. Cody Bellinger and Matt Chapman both signed three-year deals with multiple opt outs that allow them to test the free agent waters sooner rather than later if they choose.

Snell's deal appears to be in a similar vein.

The Giants have been looking to make a major splash since missing out on Aaron Judge last winter.

The Giants made an earlier splash by adding fellow Boras client third baseman Matt Chapman to the roster this winter on what is essentially a one-year deal.

Adding Snell to the roster could represent a win for the Giants to their fanbase.

They also may had more capital to spend when it comes to the luxury tax thresholds compared to the Houston Astros.

This represents a rare instance where owner Jim Crane didn't get the top man on his wishlist.
