The Cleveland Guardians, once the Cleveland Indians, are a historic franchise with several players who have made an impact on Major League Baseball.

Since being founded in 1901, the Guardians have won 11 American League Central titles, two World Series championships, and six AL pennants.

One of their best teams of all time was the 1995 club that cruised to the World Series and matched up with the Atlanta Braves.

On that team was a player named Carlos Baerga.

Baerga was a fan favorite in Cleveland and played a key role in the Guardians reaching the World Series.

On Twitter, a Guardians fan gave Baerga a shoutout and listed some of his accomplishments.

Baerga was a three-time All-Star during his time in Cleveland.

In 1995, the star infielder hit for a .314 average and popped 15 home runs, driving in a total of 90 runs.

His best season came in 1993, when he hit .321 with 21 homers and 114 RBI.

In addition to the Guardians, the 54-year-old spent time with the New York Mets, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Washington Nationals.

Baerga came up to the big leagues in 1991 and played until 2005.

Over his 14-year career, the Guardians legend hit for a .291 average, hit a grand total of 134 home runs, and posted a WAR of 19.6.

He also picked up 1,583 total hits and drove in 774 runs.

And as seen in the picture featured in the tweet, the Guardians still hold a special place in Baerga’s heart, as he was decked out in Guardians red and navy.
