Well, it had to happen at some point.

After 1,040 at-bats, Myles Straw has finally hit a home run.

The Cleveland Guardians, Gold Glove-winning center fielder has never been known for his power. He only has six home runs over his six-year career. That's tied with the recently acquired Noah Syndergaard ... who is a pitcher.

However, you'd think an everyday player would have at least a couple of home runs in a season purely based on how many plate appearances they have. But this hasn't quite been the case for Straw.

The last time Myles hit a home run before Friday night was on July 26, 2021, off of Jordan Lyles who has on the Texas Rangers at the time.

298 games, 716 days, and over a million minutes later, Straw put a jolt in one down at Tropicana Field and pulled a ball over the left field wall. The ball had an exit velocity of 96.8 exit velocity and would've been a homer in 23 of the 30 Major League ballparks.

Straw strolled back into the dugout to cheers from his teammates and a big hug from Jose Ramirez . Hopefully, this will get Straw's bat going for the rest of the season.
