Guardians realign marquee sign at Progressive Field

The Cleveland Guardians' much-publicized rebrand continues to experience hiccups ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Cleveland's MLB club formerly known as the Indians officially changed its name on Nov. 19 but still has no new jerseys for sale either at the team shop at Progressive Field or on its online store. Shortly after the in-person shop began offering new Guardians gear, its newly branded sign fell to the sidewalk.

There's more.

The club replaced the former script "Indians" logo from the marquee sign at Progressive Field and replaced it with a "Guardians" insignia, but many noticed the new letters were off-center and seemingly too far to the right (or left, depending on one's view):

Per Cleveland news outlet WKYC, the Guardians took steps to realign the sign on Tuesday.

Just days before the Nov. 19 rebrand, the baseball club confirmed the resolution of a lawsuit previously filed by a roller derby team known as the Cleveland Guardians since 2013. Both entities are now free to use the "Guardians" name.

In short, Cleveland baseball fans have had several reasons to shake their heads this fall that have nothing to do with a work stoppage that currently has no end in sight.
