Guardians rookie Steven Kwan off to historically great start to MLB career

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan finished Monday's 10-7 win against the Kansas City Royals with two walks and a three-RBI triple. The productive day for the rookie capped a four-game stretch that set an MLB record.

In the first four games of his career, Kwan reached base a record-breaking 15 times.

Kwan, 24, led the way during the Guardians' 17-3 win against the Royals on Sunday when he went five-for-five at the plate. He reached base three times in each of Cleveland's first two games of the year, as well.

After three seasons with the Oregon State Beavers, Kwan was picked by Cleveland in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft. Last year, in 77 games at the AA and AAA levels, Kwan batted .328 with 12 home runs, 44 RBIs, and six stolen bases.

The Guardians split the four-game series with the Royals and will next travel for a pair of games on the road against the Cincinnati Reds.
