The Braves look unstoppable early in the season, winning six of their first seven games and building a quick three-game lead in the difficult NL East. And the scariest part is they aren’t even healthy. They are dealing with a plethora of injuries to their rotation, including Max Fried, who left his first start of the season with hamstring tightness. Their closer, Raisel Iglesias , is also dealing with shoulder inflammation, and Michael Harris left yesterday’s game with back tightness.
Thankfully, none of those injuries seem too serious. According to David O’Brien of The Athletic, both Raisel Iglesias and Max Fried are progressing towards a return, and Michael Harris’ exit was just precautionary.
The Braves are also without Collin McHugh and Kyle Wright , but they are playing almost as if it doesn’t matter. The depth of this roster is absolutely incredible. They have 30-35 players that are ready to play at any moment, and it’s a testament to the job Alex Anthopoulos has done in building this team. Eventually, everybody will be back, and it doesn’t seem like it will be too long for that to happen, which will be a nightmare for anyone standing in their path.
