Jackie Bradley Jr. signs two-year deal with Milwaukee Brewers

After eight years in Boston, Jackie Bradley Jr. is heading to Milwaukee, as the center fielder signed a two-year, $24 million deal with the Brewers that, according to ESPN, includes an opt-out after the first season.

Bradley was drafted by the Red Sox in 2011 and spent most of his first two years in the minors before being called up to the big leagues in 2013, though he continued to split time between the majors and minors over the next couple of seasons before establishing himself as the Red Sox center fielder in 2016.

During his time with the Red Sox organization, Bradley established himself as an excellent fielder, winning a Golden Glove in 2018 and making the All-Star Game in 2016. He became a fan favorite for his acrobatic catches in the outfield.

However, Bradley has struggled to establish himself as a threat at the plate, hitting above .250 only twice in his career. Last season may have been his best offensively, as he hit .283 with a .364 OBP during the shortened season.

Bradley joining the Brewers will give Milwaukee some depth in their outfield, as the 30-year-old joins an outfield rotation that includes Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, and Avisail Garcia.
