After already spending nine seasons in the NL West, either with the Dodgers or the Giants, Joc Pederson is far from done enjoying the thrill of one of baseball’s most competitive divisions.

Now with the Diamondbacks, Pederson was quick to give some high praise to his new team: “They’ve always done the little things right, and now they’ve added young superstars that are changing the game, stealing bases, hitting homers. They’re electric out there, and I want to be a part of it.”

Mike Hazen, the Diamondbacks general manager, shared a similar enthusiasm, declaring, “I’ve always appreciated his energy and competitiveness from across the field. It seems like he’s worn us out. He’s been in the division for so long, see him all the time; it’s good to have him on our side.”

Hazen emphasized that since the D-backs are already good to go in the outfield, with Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Alek Thomas, and Corbin Carroll, Pederson will primarily serve the DH role. Nonetheless, Pederson could serve as a valuable backup in the outfield if needed.

Manager Torey Lovullo added further excitement to his club’s new addition: “Everyone loves this guy. Every single person would run through a wall for him.”

With two World Series championships already under his belt, Pederson offers plenty of postseason experience to a relatively young team. Additionally, he has the perfect outgoing personality to help him become a fan favorite in no time.
