With NIL, many often think about the money and merchandise the players receive. However, they do not see the charitable things players can do, as is the case with Jordan Burks. Fresh off a breakout performance against Vanderbilt last week, Kentucky’s Jordan Burks signed an NIL deal with Crossover Culture, a new basketball apparel company.

Per the founder of Crossover Culture, Ryan Duke, what is the first thing Jordan Burks asked for as part of the deal? To donate apparel for all the players on the 8th grade team his mother, Vicki Burks, who coaches at Discovery Middle School in Madison, Alabama.

This isn’t the first act of kindness Burks has done during his time at Kentucky. He paid it forward at a Lexington Target in December, paying a woman’s bill. He has also gifted his Kentucky teammates blue ostrich leather bags from a separate NIL deal with Prime Society.

As far as Crossover Culture, Duke spoke about what it means to have Jordan Burks as a spokesman.

“Jordan is someone who we feel is the kind of person and player who will sneak up on people and really blow up in the right spot,” Duke said. “He operates under the radar in some ways but we don’t think that will be for long.”

Burks has been getting more time on the court of late, showing plenty of effort and aiding Kentucky’s on defense. It’s good to see him helping others off the court.
