Jose Ramirez back in Indians lineup despite lingering thumb issue

It appears Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez isn't too bothered by the thumb issue he has dealt with as of late.

The Tribe included the two-time All-Star 27-year-old in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field.

The Indians announced on Tuesday that Ramirez was listed as day-to-day after an MRI confirmed he was dealing with a bruise on his left hand. Ramirez exited Monday's game in the seventh inning due to discomfort in his thumb and then sat on Tuesday as Cleveland lost to Kansas City 8-6.

With left-handed pitcher Danny Duffy starting on the bump for the Royals on Wednesday evening, Ramirez can focus on hitting solely as a righty.

"(The thumb) affected him more swinging left-handed than right-handed," Indians team president Chris Antonetti told reporters on Tuesday, per Cleveland radio station 92.3 The Fan

Ramirez leads the Indians in home runs (9), RBI (26), runs scored (31) and stolen bases (9).
