Juan Soto, Yankees continue improbable start with comeback win vs. Astros

Only three games into his career with the New York Yankees, All-Star slugger Juan Soto is already paying huge dividends. Not only has he etched his name in the legendary franchise's record books, but he's also helped the longstanding team make history.

In the Yankees' 5-3 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday, Soto's seventh-inning solo shot — his first homer with New York — proved to be the go-ahead run.

The victory moved the Yankees to 3-0 on the season despite trailing late in every game. According to stats guru Sarah Langs of MLB.com, the Yankees are only the ninth team ever to win their first three games of the season after being behind in the sixth inning or later in each game.

Soto finished 2 for 5 on the night, continuing his electric start in pinstripes. He's reached base safely nine times already this season, tied for the most by a player in their first three games as a Yankee.

It's only three games, but Soto has been as impressive as possible over such a small sample size. The 25-year-old is 6 for 12 at the plate with a double, home run, three RBI and three walks.

Meanwhile, he's already won over his teammates, like starting pitcher Marcus Stroman.

"He's gonna be one of those guys I'm talking about when I'm a grandad," Stroman said via Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. "He's a generational talent."

With Soto now onboard, everything seems to be going right for the Yankees, who are now 3-0 for the first time since 2003.
