Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino posted an exciting update on social media that is sure to get fans excited heading into 2024.

The slugger, who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in June, posted a video of him hitting in the cage that said:

"Full BP today. Almost full go."

That's certainly great news for him, as you never like to see players deprived of the ability to do what they love, but it's also great news for the Royals.

Kansas City finished with the second-worst record in all of baseball in 2023 and it doesn't seem like they'll have the talent to compete in 2024, either. But with superstar Bobby Witt Jr. and a healthy Pasquantino, there's a chance they could be fringy interesting in a mediocre American League Central - at least offensively.

The slugger finished the year by hitting .247 with nine homers and 26 RBI. After coming up in 2022 and making his major league debut, he hit 10 homers and drove in 26. Thus, he has 19 homers and 52 RBI for his career. Along with Witt Jr., he's a centerpiece of the Royals' rebuild and hopeful return to contention.

In addition to his work with the Royals, he also played for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic this past spring.

With three months to go until spring training begins, it seems as if Pasquantino is in a good spot to be fully ready when the Royals get to Arizona.

We'll see how the rest of the offseason materializes in KC but this is a good start.

The Royals will play the Rays on Thursday at 6:40 p.m. ET.
