After beating non-Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier this year, Liam Hendriks has used his experience with the disease to benefit cancer research. The Chicago White Sox closer has met with several individuals battling cancer during the team's travels and raised nearly $130,000 for lymphoma research through his "Close Out Cancer" t-shirt campaign.

Now added to the docket is a fundraiser and awareness event in the form of a White Sox tailgate, which will feature special guest DJ Pauly D. Famously known as a cast member on MTV's "Jersey Shore," DJ Pauly D has been an advocate for cancer-related initiatives, much like Hendriks.

The tailgate will take place at 4 PM CT in Lot B outside Guaranteed Rate Field before the White Sox host the Minnesota Twins on Friday, Sept. 15. DJ Pauly D will provide entertainment by performing a 45-minute set.

Tickets for the event, which can be found here, include a $20 donation benefitting Be The Match, a nonprofit organization that helps those in need of bone marrow transplants get the necessary care. A ticket comes with one food voucher and two drink vouchers for beer and Coca-Cola products. Attendees must also have a ticket for the White Sox vs. Twins 6:40 PM CT game that night.

Additionally, fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets to win autographed items from White Sox players. There will also be an opportunity to join the bone marrow registry with a cheek swab taken by Be The Match representatives on-site.
