Los Angeles Dodgers hammer six home runs against the Kansas City Royals for 12th-straight win

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers increased their league-leading winning streak to 12 games, knocking off the Kansas City Royals, 13-3.

The Dodgers' offense was red-hot against the Royals, finishing with 16 hits on the night, 6 of which were home runs.

Mookie Betts started the home run parade leading off the game with his 26th long-ball of the season.

With the Dodgers already ahead 5-0, Will Smith hit a two-run shot in the top half of the second inning to give the Dodgers a commanding 7-0 advantage.

Gavin Lux hit a solo blast in the third inning that traveled 431 feet, followed by a Max Muncy two-run home run in the fourth, which put the game firmly out of reach.

In the ninth, with LA already ahead 11-3, Joey Gallo and Cody Bellinger each tallied solo homers, adding an exclamation point to the win.

The double-digit victory on Saturday night put the Dodgers in rare company. During the Dodgers' winning streak, they've won all 12 games by multiple runs, tying the 1906 Chicago Cubs for the fifth-longest streak in baseball history.

Los Angeles currently owns the best record in the major leagues at 79-33. They lead the NL West by 17 games over the second-place San Diego Padres.
