The Los Angeles Dodgers announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Daiso, establishing a partnership with the Hiroshima-based retailer.

The deal calls for Daiso to have placement on the media backdrop that is used for interviews with Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, plus the company is part of the rotating signage behind home plate at Dodger Stadium. Daiso also is going to be featured behind home plate at Camelback Ranch.

“DAISO and the Dodgers form a great team, each raising the other’s exposure and stature,” Dodgers executive vice president and chief marketing officer Lon Rosen said in a statement.

“DAISO is a brand with high loyalty among its clientele and poised to scale even greater heights this year. Needless to say, this dovetails with the status and ambitions of the Dodgers, and we could not be more pleased to take the field in this win-win relationship.”

Daiso additionally is going to be a presenting sponsor for the Shohei Ohtani bobblehead giveaway at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 28.

“This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to excellence, community engagement and the pursuit of greatness,” Daiso vice president of marketing Daniela Davis said.

“As DAISO continues to expand its global presence, this sponsorship represents an incredible opportunity to connect with fans and support the beloved Dodgers team. We are incredibly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to a successful partnership between DAISO and the Los Angeles Dodgers!”

Daiso has stores in 26 countries and regions across four continents. The company opened their first store in the United States in 2005, and now has close to 100 outlets in the country. Included in that are more than 25 Daiso stores located within 25 miles of Dodger Stadium.

Daiso joins other sponsorship agreements the Dodgers have signed with Japan-based companies, including All Nippon Airways (ANA), Toyo Tires and Kowa Company Ltd.
