The Los Angeles Angels brought back an old friend in relief pitcher Matt Moore. The Halos signed Moore last week to a one-year deal to bolster their bullpen.

It was a move general manager Perry Minasian deemed necessary, and they didn't need to look too far to acquire Moore back.

The southpaw spent the first half of the 2023 season with the Halos, but the team eventually waived him. He was then picked up by the Cleveland Guardians days later but finished his season with the Miami Marlins after being waived once again.

Moore bounced around in the 2023 season but landed back in Orange County this offseason. Although it was a weird turn of events for the southpaw, he told reporters on Tuesday that he holds no grudges toward the Angels for waiving him.

"It's life and there's a lot worse things that could happen to me than going from one Major League team to another Major League team"

The 34-year-old has been around the block and knows the business of the league. Moore has been traded and waived, so this movement was nothing new to him.

It's been a full circle moment for Moore, and the Angels are excited to have him back on the roster.

In 44 innings with the Halos last season, Moore posted a 2.66 ERA with 49 strikeouts and 12 walks before being waived.

Minasian and the front office did their due diligence, and their bullpen should certainly improve this upcoming season after being tied-for-26th in all of baseball last year with a 4.88 ERA.
