Mets' Buck Showalter ranked most handsome manager in MLB

The New York Mets didn't sign All-Star Carlos Correa this winter but nevertheless notched a unique win following the holiday season.

As Audacy's Ryan Chichester explained, the Gambling.com website has named Buck Showalter of the Mets the most handsome manager in all of MLB. That outlet utilized the Golden Ratio Face app, which, "uses facial symmetry, facial structure and the golden ratio to calculate the beauty of anyone," for its scores.

Showalter earned an MLB-high score of 8.65. Rob Thomson of the Philadelphia Phillies came in second with an 8.56 score. Unfortunately for Kansas City Royals skipper Matt Quatraro, he was last at 5.13:

According to Matt Reigle of Outkick, a press release claims that the Gambling.com team wanted to know which managers, "are aging like fine wines and whose side-line stresses and strains have taken their toll throughout their managerial careers." Showalter, who officially joined the Mets in December 2021, turns 67 years old this coming May.

In Showalter's first campaign in charge, the Mets won 101 regular-season games but also lost a 10.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the National League East division standings that they held on June 1. New York then fell to the San Diego Padres in the wild-card round of the playoffs, but Showalter was later named NL Manager of the Year.

Reigle added that Gambling.com used the Golden Ratio Face app to name Jay Woodcroft of the Edmonton Oilers the best-looking coach in the NHL. J.B. Bickerstaff of the Cleveland Cavaliers topped the list of the most handsome NBA coaches.

As Matt Musico of Elite Sports NY pointed out, it's unlikely Showalter knows he has "won" such an honor. Perhaps the Mets' social media team can have some fun with the occasion considering it's a quieter time on the baseball calendar.
