Mets' Dellin Betances transferred to 60-day IL with right shoulder impingement
Dellin Betances will be sidelined longer than expected.
The New York Mets transferred the right-hander to the 60-day injured list on Saturday with a right shoulder impingement, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
Betances was initially placed on the 10-day IL on April 8, one day after making his season debut against the Philadelphia Phillies. Mets acting general manager Zack Scott said Friday that there is no defined timetable for when the 33-year-old could return.
Since signing with the Mets before the 2020 season, Betances has appeared in just 16 games due to multiple injuries. In 12.2 total innings, he owns a 7.82 ERA and has walked 13 hitters with three hit-batters and two wild pitches.
