The Guerrero family baseball legacy continues as the New York Mets are expected to sign Vladi Miguel Guerrero in 2024. This will occur during the 2024 IFA period, which commences on January 15th. Vladi is Vladimir Guerrero’s son and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s younger brother. At just 17 years old, this youngster is expected to be a New York Met and opponent of his older brother, and Blue Jays star Vladdy. Guerrero Sr. had a career record of 449 home runs, 1496 RBIs, 2590 hits, 181 stolen bases, and a batting average of .318.

Vladi Miguel Guerrero Is Expected to Be Signed by The Mets

Guerrero Brothers

Vladdy’s younger brother is stepping in his footsteps and working toward bigger and better things. He is expected to be signed by the Mets, and there is no surprise that there is another Guerrero in baseball. Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was a talented baseball player with a lot of skill. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been the face of the Toronto Blue Jays alongside shortstop Bo Bichette. They’ve been the dynamic duo of the Blue Jays for several seasons now. Vladdy is also recognized for his success as a first baseman, winning the 2022 Gold Glove award. He is recognized as one of the top players on the roster. That is despite a 2023 season that saw underperformance from him and several players.

But Vladimir Guerrero Jr. still had a decent 2023 season, and if his brother is anything like him, he will succeed. Vladdy finished the 2023 season with a .264 batting average, 26 home runs, and 94 RBIs. Having generations of Guerrero men playing in MLB is compelling, as it shows how the love of baseball is carried forward in the family. International free agency is how Vladi is expected to be signed with the Mets this upcoming January. As mentioned, Vladi is a 17-year-old from the Dominican Republic, just like his older brother and Hall of Fame father. One fun fact about Vladi Miguel is that he is a lefty hitter. The Mets have not yet confirmed the expected signing, but there are many videos across social media of him wearing Mets attire.

Final Thoughts

Congratulations to the generations of Guerrero players who have brought and are still getting success to MLB. Many are probably unaware that Vladdy has a younger brother, but it is nice that they can share the love of baseball as a family. It is nice that Guerrero Sr. has passed on his wisdom and love of the game to his Dominican sons.
