The New York Mets are off to a fantastic start to the 2025 MLB season. After narrowly defeating their division rival Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, the Mets have advanced to a 16-7 record and have extended their lead in the National League East division.

Their pitching staff has been a huge reason for their success. New York currently leads all of Major League Baseball with a combined 2.43 ERA after Monday's game.

Despite skepticism about the legitimacy of their rotation this offseason, the Mets' starting five has been an overwhelming strength. They've been so good that they recently made history.

OptaSTATS took to their X account to highlight just how dominant the Mets' rotation has been.

“The Mets are the first team in the modern era (since 1901) to have their starting pitchers allow fewer than 15 runs (13 runs allowed) and no homers in their first 11 home games of a season," the research-based account revealed.

Of the five Mets pitchers who have tossed more than 20 innings this season, none have an ERA higher than 3.43. Both Trevor Megill and Kodai Senga have ERAs lower than 1.10 for New York.

As a team, the Mets have allowed the fewest number of home runs this season at just 10. The rotation in Queens has allowed just a 2.31 ERA in 117 innings pitched. They have yielded just a 1.26 WHIP and a .224 batting average.

While the Mets' offense continues to shape into form, the pitching staff is doing its job to propel the Mets to be one of the best teams in baseball.
