Mets OF Kevin Pillar disappointed after fans mock him for wearing protective mask
New York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar is disappointed with spectators who are making fun of him for wearing a protective mask due to multiple nasal fractures he suffered during a game last month.

Pillar returned to the Mets' lineup Wednesday, and he wears the mask while playing in the outfield and running the bases.

The 32-year-old said wearing the mask "is like having an extra layer of skin on," according to Newsday.
Pillar suffered the injury last month and was forced to undergo surgery on his nose to repair multiple fractures after taking a 94 mph fastball to the face.
