The New York Mets are off to their best start since 2018.

They’re 16-8 to start the season, which is the best record in the entire National League.

Owner Steve Cohen appears to have assembled a squad that is capable of winning its first World Series title since 1986.

The offense is clicking, and the starting rotation is among the best rotations in all of baseball.

The Mets did have to make a decision yesterday regarding veteran second baseman and slugger Robinson Cano.

Cano was hitting just .195 in 12 games in 2022.

According to Mets writer Anthony DiComo, general manager Billy Eppler presented several options to Cohen about the Cano situation and talked about the financial ramifications, to which Cohen replied, “Make the baseball decision.”

All Steve Does Is Win

Even with all of that money left on Cano’s contract, which is set to expire after the 2023 season, Cohen cares about one thing and one thing only: winning.

When Cohen took over the Mets, he made his goals very clear.

He wants to win a World Series title for Mets fans.

No amount of money is too much for him to handle.

Winning is his top priority.

Cohen has already won over the fans in New York and is trying to present them with an opportunity they haven’t had in a long time.

He saw the Cano situation as an opportunity to improve his team and he did just that by making the call to let him go.

This makes him the ideal owner for fans and players.

He’s not afraid to spend big on players and he’s not worried about how much money a player’s contract is going to take up on the payroll.

All that matters to him is winning.
