Mets place third baseman J.D. Davis on 10-day IL with bruised hand

The New York Mets have placed J.D. Davis on the 10-day injured list with a bruised left hand, the team announced Saturday.

José Peraza was recalled to the major league roster in a corresponding move.

Davis was hit in the hand by a 91 mph fastball during Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies and hasn't played since. X-rays returned negative, but the third baseman has been limited due to swelling.

In two games this season, Davis is slashing .333/.600/.333 with one hit.
