The New York Mets have made a plethora of moves this offseason.

New York hasn't had the offseason many expected, but it still has been successful. The Mets have made a handful of moves but haven't made a major splash. New York has instead opted for cheaper moves with upside.

The Mets continued this strategy and reportedly signed former New York Yankees slugger Luke Voit to a minor league deal, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman.

"Luke Voit and the Mets are moving toward a minor league agreement," Sherman said. "Andy Martino reported first the sides were talking."

Voit bounced around in 2023. The former Yankees slugger appeared in 22 games with the Milwaukee Brewers at the big league level and slashed .221/.284/.265. Voit appeared in eight games with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds in the Milwaukee organization.

He dealt with some injuries and eventually was designated for assignment and released by Milwaukee in June. Voit signed a minor league deal with the Mets and appeared in 37 games with the Triple-A Syracuse Mets and clubbed 14 home runs and drove in 35 runs.

The Yankees acquired Voit in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018 and he spent three-plus seasons with the club. Voit was at his best as a member of the Yankees and even led the American League with 22 home runs in 2020 and finished ninth in the American League Most Valuable Player voting.

Overall, Voit appeared in 281 games with the Yankees and clubbed 68 home runs, and drove in 182 runs.
