The trading continues.

At the buzzer of the 6 p.m. deadline on Tuesday, the New York Mets traded relief pitcher Dominic Leone to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for top prospect Jeremiah Jackson.

The Athletic's Will Sammon and The New York Post's Joel Sherman were the first to report on this deal.

Jackson, a shortstop in Double-A, was the Angels' No. 9 ranked prospect. He is hitting .248/.321/.447 with a .768 OPS, 15 home runs and 56 RBIs in 82 games this season.

Mets general manager Billy Eppler also drafted Jackson in the second-round of the 2018 MLB draft when he was the GM of the Angels.

The Mets received a strong return for Leone, who was a middle reliever, who the team picked up earlier in the year.

By landing Jackson, the Mets acquired four minor league shortstops at the deadline, which improves their athleticism.

In addition to Leone, the Mets traded Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, David Robertson, Tommy Pham and Mark Canha.
