It was a wild, wild game on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

The Miami Marlins beat the Seattle Mariners, 4-1, to avoid being swept in the three-game series, but how it happened was one of the more interesting ways you'll ever see.

First off, the Marlins outfield defense stymied the Mariners all night. Jonathan Davis took a home run away from Teoscar Hernandez in the first inning and then the trio of Davis, Bryan De La Cruz and Jesus Sanchez proceeded to flag down balls all night.

Sanchez made a game-saving play in the bottom of the ninth inning that helped preserve the win. The Marlins were up 4-0 when Eugenio Suarez hit what would have been a game-tying grand slam, if not for Sanchez jumping over the wall to bring it back.

In addition to the great defense, Marlins young starter Eury Perez reached a big milestone in his young career. The 20-year-old future ace went six innings for the first time in his big league career, using the outfield defense behind him to limit the Mariners to just two hits. He walked one and struck out six.

He's now 4-1 in his rookie year with a 1.80 ERA.

With the win, the Marlins are now 38-31 and trail the Atlanta Braves by 4.5 games in the National League East. The Mariners are back under .500 at 33-34 and nine games out of first place in the American League West.

The Marlins will play the Nationals on Friday night in Washington while the Mariners will host the Chicago White Sox at T-Mobile Park.
