Michael Grove is one of the several young talents within the Dodgers’ farm system who is expected to play a significant role for LA in the coming seasons.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic recently wrote an article that ranked LA as the top farm system while gaining insight from Dodgers director of player development Will Rhymes. Michael Grove earned his spot as one of four pitching prospects they highlighted.

The 23-year-old made strides in his development last season to refine his game and understand the intricacies of pitching at a Major League level.

Rhymes touched upon the righty’s work ethic:

“He’s so resilient and so tough,” Rhymes said. “He’s completely fearless."

"He won a lot of credibility with the guys for his willingness to take the ball and make no excuses and just come after guys."

Grove was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2018 MLB draft, and he established himself as a promising young talent in the organization.

Although he has spent the majority of his career pitching in the minors, Grove remained focused and determined to make progress. His hard work paid off in a big way last season. Grove was added to the Dodgers’ 40-man roster in November 2021 and pitched 3 2/3 innings in his debut.

As he continues to hone his craft and learn from his teammates, the prospect is sure to build off his early success. With the Dodgers heading into the 2023 season, Grove will have more opportunities to continue his development and hopefully become a key contributor to the team in the near future.
