The Braves keep winning despite missing a number of key members of their club due to injuries. Yesterday’s victory over the Royals was their fifth in a row, as they moved to an NL-best 11-4 on the season. This might be the most complete Braves team they’ve ever put together, and they only stand to get better as guys like Max Fried and Michael Harris return.
Fried is still recovering from a hamstring injury, but the hope is he may make his first start back sometime this week. He’s already throwing off the mound and participating in fielding drills. It’s only a matter of time before we see last year’s runner up in the NL Cy Young race again.
Michael Harris, on the other hand, is further behind in his recovery. He tweaked his back a little over a week ago, and while it doesn’t appear to be anything serious, the 2022 NL Rookie of the Year still has yet to begin taking batting practice. He’s eligible to come off the 10-day IL on Monday, but that won’t be happening. It’s looking like he’ll miss at least another week.
