The Milwaukee Brewers are in the market for a pair of relief pitchers this offseason after declining club options on veterans Justin Wilson and Andrew Chafin.

The 36-year-old Wilson just finished his 12th year in the big leagues with the Pirates, Mets, Yankees, Reds, Cubs and Tigers. Ironically enough, he has never appeared in a game for the Brewers. He was recovering from Tommy John surgery and then went on the injured list with a lat strain. The two injuries together made him miss the whole season.

Lifetime, he's 33-24 with a 3.41 ERA.

As for Chafin, he's 33-years-old and just wrapped up his 10th year in the big leagues. He's played for the Diamondbacks, Cubs, Athletics, Tigers and Brewers. He appeared in games for Arizona and Milwaukee this year, going 3-4 across both teams with a 4.73 ERA. He's got 19 career saves, including eight this year for Arizona.

Given his experience and track record, he should have no problem finding a job this offseason. Wilson should likely get an opportunity as well.

In addition to needing bullpen arms to take the spots of Wilson and Chafin, the Brewers have all sorts of questions right now. First, who is going to be the manager of the team in 2024?

Craig Counsell has entertained overtures from the Mets and Guardians - and the Astros have interest in him as well. Also, No. 2 pitcher Brandon Woodruff is expected to be out for the year with a shoulder injury.
