After experiencing shoulder discomfort earlier in camp, Milwaukee Brewers ' left-hander Wade Miley says that his injury is no longer a concern.

Per Brewers' reporter Curtis Hogg on social media:

Wade Miley threw a 25 pitch bullpen today. Said afterward he felt good, isn’t having any concern with the injury and now feels it’s a matter of if he can ramp up enough in time to be ready for opening day in 3 weeks.

Miley, who re-upped with Milwaukee this offseason, will be an integral part a Brewers rotation that has experienced extensive upheaval this offseason. The team traded away former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles. Brandon Woodruff is expected to miss the season with injury and the team also dealt away Adrian Houser to the New York Mets. Furthermore, depth starter Eric Lauer just signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Miley went 9-4 in 2023 with a 3.14 ERA. He made 23 starts and helped the Brewers win the National League Central crown. Unfortunately for them, they were swept in the wild card round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who eventually went on to the World Series.

He will be entering his 14th year in the big leagues with the Brewers, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Mariners, Orioles, Astros, Reds and Cubs. Lifetime, he's 108-98 with a 4.06 ERA. Miley has been mostly durable in his career as well. He made the 23 starts in 2023 and 28 in 2021. He also made 33 in the pre-pandemic season of 2019.
