The logo of the San Antonio Missions (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) is supposed to be a flip-flop, symbolic of the shoes worn by old missionaries. In theory, the idea made sense. In practice, the idea needs some work.

The Missions unveiled their new logo on Monday. If you look hard enough, you can see the flip-flop. But at first glance, it looks like…something else.

Not too long ago, we had a Minor League team running a “Netflix and Chill” promotion. Now this. What’s next? On second thought, don’t answer that.

As far as this logo goes, we have one request. No live action mascot.

In all seriousness, kind of hard to believe that nobody saw the obvious problem here. We understand that Minor League teams run weird promos all year. So, this was probably just a part of some bigger package.

But still, dozens of people had to see this before if it was unveiled. If this really escaped the attention of everyone, this club’s design team needs some new members.
