Major League Baseball announced its umpires for the 119th World Series on Thursday, including naming Bill Miller as the primary crew chief.

Miller, who is finishing his 25th season as an umpire in the big leagues, will make his fifth World Series appearance when the Texas Rangers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 on Friday in Arlington, Texas.

Miller will work his second Fall Classic as the crew chief, having done so in 2020. His crew includes regular-season crew chief Alfonso Marquez, Vic Carapazza, Brian Knight, David Rackley, D.J. Reyburn and Quinn Wolcott.

Marquez will be working his fifth career World Series, however this will mark the World Series debuts for Carapazza, Knight, Rackley, Reyburn and Wolcott. All worked this postseason's division series round.

As part of the seven-umpire plan, each will have a home-plate assignment for a potential seven-game series.

One of the seven umpires will be off the field in each game. Marquez will serve as crew chief for a potential Game 6, when Miller will be off the field.

The replay officials for the series are regular-season crew chief Todd Tichenor and Lance Barrett.
