MLB best bets: How about this Chisox-Astros SGP?

So far we're perfect on the MLB season. Yesterday's Opening Day Same Game Parlay hit with ease and we're confident Friday's hits too. The Astros are still looking for their first win after losing to the White Sox on Thursday and we've got a feeling Houston's bats are going to break out on Friday.

Chicago's Dylan Cease had his way with the Houston lineup on Thursday but we don't see Lance Lynn having that same luck on Friday. Houston managed only two runs on Thursday and we're confident they score at least three runs on Friday. Don't be surprised if Houston tags Lynn for three or more runs in the first three or four innings, which is why this is the most confident leg of our SGP. We're well aware the Astros are currently without Jose Altuve and Michael Brantley, but Jose Abreu, Jeremy Pena, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman and the rest of this stacked lineup is more than capable of scoring three total runs. Houston was third in the league in runs scored last year and we're not going to hit the panic button just because they struggled offensively in the first game of the season.

As for the second leg of our SGP, we're taking Astros starter Cristian Javier to record at least five strikeouts. If you include Javier's three postseason starts from last year, the right-hander has recorded five or more strikeouts in each of his last nine starts. And considering Javier averaged a career-high 11.9 SO/9 last year, we're really confident Javier has little problem racking up five punchouts. Even if Javier is on a pitch count on Friday, we're still confident he gets through five innings, and we can't see him averaging less than a strikeout per inning when his night comes to an end.

And for the last leg of our SGP, we're taking Houston (+1.5) on the runline. We expect Houston to win, but we're going to play it safe and take the Astros to lose by no more than a run just in case. Chicago's Lynn is 0-5 with an 11.51 ERA over his last five starts against Houston and we don't see the veteran hanging around too long in this one. Chicago pulled off an impressive win on Thursday to open the season, but it was by just a run, and if the White Sox do win again on Friday, we don't see it being by more than a run again.

The SGP: Cristian Javier (over 4.5 strikeouts), Houston Astros (over 2.5 runs) & Houston Astros (+1.5) (+100 odds via BetMGM)

Bet $100 to win $100.
