MLB best bets: O's, Jays and D-backs have something to play for

Tuesday just feels weird around here without football to look forward to. We persevere and head back to the diamond. It's the last week of the MLB regular season, and because of that, we were thinking it might be wise to find us the teams with something to play for in good spots. We found just what we were looking for with this simple play today.

Back motivation with moneyline bets

First leg: Baltimore moneyline

This one is simple. The Orioles are currently 2.5 games up on Tampa Bay for the top spot in the AL East, and a few more wins will secure the division crown for Baltimore. On the other end is a horrible Washington Nationals team, sitting dead last in the NL East. Over the last 30 days, only four times are hitting righties better than Baltimore, they should jump on Josiah Gray here and cruise.

Second leg: Toronto moneyline

We stay in the AL East for a moment and load up Toronto to take down the Yankees. The Blue Jays are 1.5 games up on the last wild-card spot and sitting pretty for a playoff spot, but the work is not done. They'll look to secure a spot in this series with New York, and they seem likely to do it. New York has been one of the worst hitting teams against righties this year, and Kevin Gausman just shut out New York across six innings last week. Here's to him and the Blue Jays doing it again.

Third leg: Arizona moneyline

On one end we've got the Diamondbacks, currently tied for the second wild-card spot in the National League. On the other is a White Sox team sitting at 60-96. Zach Davies has certainly not been a world-beater on the mound for Arizona, but he gets a gift today in a White Sox team with the lowest OBP and second-lowest hitting rate against righties this year.

Simple on our end, and this trio to all win comes in at a cool +291 on DraftKings. Good luck!

Betting: Baltimore, Toronto & Arizona moneylines (+291 DK)

In the news ...

Eagles, Bengals win on Monday night — Philadelphia dominated in the trenches on Monday and secured a relatively easy 25-11 win over the Buccaneers, becoming one of just three 3-0 teams left in the NFL. The Eagles are currently +700 to win the Super Bowl, behind only San Francisco and Kansas City. In Cincinnati, Joe Burrow ended up playing, and thanks to a big night from Ja'Marr Chase, the Bengals avoided 0-3 with a win over the Rams. Every other AFC North team is 2-1, and Cincy is +425 to hop them all and win another division crown.

Raptors emerging as serious potential landing spot for Damian Lillard — According to reports, Toronto is pushing to hop the line and offer Portland a package that could be enough to draw All-Star Damian Lillard in return. The Raptors have players, such as OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes, that could be of interest to the Blazers. Toronto is currently 80-1 to win the NBA Finals next year, ninth-best in the Eastern Conference alone.

MLB regular season ends Sunday — We're down to the final week of the MLB regular season, and the wild-card race in both leagues is shaping up to be a wild finish. Tampa Bay has secured one of the playoff spots in the AL and could still hop Baltimore to take over the division. Toronto is 1.5 games up for the next wild-card spot, leaving Houston and Seattle to fight it out for the final spot. The two teams are playing this week, and Houston took the first game yesterday. The Astros are -250 to make the playoffs compared to the Mariners at +170. In the National League, Philadelphia is comfortably entrenched as the top wild card team, five games up on the next closest team. Arizona and Chicago are currently tied for the other two spots, with Miami (1 game back), Cincinnati (2.5), San Francisco (4.5) and San Diego (5.5) still alive below them. Should be a fun final week!
