MLB best bets, strikeout props for Tuesday 7/25: Royals' Zack Greinke ripe for a fade

An 0-3 mark on Monday isn't how we wanted to start the week in strikeout props, but we've started in the hole before and battled our way out. Let's shoot for a bounceback with my three favorite K props for Tuesday's MLB slate.

Zack Greinke under 2.5 Ks (-145 DraftKings)

This number may seem low for a pitcher of Zack Greinke's caliber, but you could actually argue it's too high. Over his last seven starts, Greinke has gone 0-5 and recorded just 17 total strikeouts. Only 17.4 percent of his outs have been Ks over that span, so he's clearly not the swing-and-miss artist he once was. Additionally, the Cleveland Guardians have the fewest strikeouts per game (6.0) since the All-Star break, and they didn't strike out once in six innings against Greinke on June 29. Take the under.

Pablo Lopez over 7.5 Ks (-105 DK)

Pablo Lopez has been one of the most effective swing-and-miss starters all season. The right-hander ranks sixth in MLB this year in strikeouts per nine innings (11.24), and he's fanned seven or more hitters in six of his last seven starts. Now he gets to face a Seattle Mariners lineup that's recorded the second-most strikeouts in the league (982) and the second-most strikeouts per game (10.2) since the All-Star break. Lopez should have no problem hitting this over.

Michael Kopech under 5.5 Ks (-104 FanDuel)

Let's head to the Crosstown Classic for our last bet. The Chicago Cubs have been on fire offensively since the All-Star break. They lead MLB in batting average (.300), OPS (.857), and runs per game (6.9) since the break, and they've made a habit of chasing starters early. Michael Kopech hasn't gone over 5.5 Ks in five straight starts, and he's 1-3 in that span. This is a perfect recipe for an under.
