MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 4/26

When the going is good it is best to stick with it. I was going to maybe pass on MLB today but even with a few games this afternoon we have seven games to choose from tonight. So let's get after it.

As for yesterday, 2-1 gets us to another day of profit and Josiah Gray is a name to keep an eye on. The Padres let us down but what else is new?

Over to the NBA for a second: I am nervous about my Kings but I like the plays below a lot.

Winning Days: 6 of 9

In Review: Tuesday, April 26

Minnesota Twins -125
Minnesota beat New York again last night. I love it.

San Diego Padres +100
This was a worthy gamble to fade the Cubs. They are not as good as they have shown so far.

Josiah Gray Over 15.5 Outs +135
Gray was awesome yesterday. There is no other way to describe it.

MLB Picks for Wednesday, April 26

Favorite

Seattle Mariners -115 (at Philadelphia Phillies)

Neither of these teams has looked great so far this season. Seattle got the W last night and I like Logan Gilbert over Taijuan Walker in this spot. Seattle has the better bullpen too. Philly just doesn't have the punch with slugger Bryce Harper out to start the season. He is not that far off now but until he is back there are some good fade opportunities.

Underdog

Pittsburgh Pirates +120 (vs. Los Angeles Dodgers)

Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin was 16-1 last year. That is awesome, but this is his first start of 2023 and he is on the road against one of the hottest teams in the NL. Backing the Bucs still feels a little weird, but Roansy Contreras has the stuff to tame any lineup and there is so much positivity in Pittsburgh right now. You don't want to fade that.

Prop

Mackenzie Gore Over 5.5 Strikeouts +115

Per the above, Gray dominated the Mets yesterday. That win forced me to look at the Nationals again and this one stood out because of that payoff. Gore may be no sure thing overall, but he makes guys whiff. He has had at least six Ks in every start this season, including one where he did not even pitch four innings. This one should have been priced -110.
