MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 5/24

Back to MLB last night and we were so very close to having a nice 3-0 start after a brief hiatus. That is baseball betting in a nutshell.

Last night the Twins bullpen coughed up a lead and Yu Darvish came up one out short of cashing. I don't know if those are "bad beats" because it will happen for and against you all season long, right?

Tonight there is not quite a full slate of action as we lost a few day games. I have to admit that I am curious to see how the Rays respond after losing 20-1 last night to Toronto. Having their ace on the hill should help.

Let's go add a winning day.

Favorite Picks: 9-8 (-6.4 Units)
Underdog Pick: 6-11 (-29 Units)

Prop Pick: 9-8 (+20.5 Units)

Winning Days: 8 of 17

In Review: Tuesday, May 23

Minnesota Twins -140 (loss)
The Twins were up 3-0 but the bullpen frittered it away. Hmm, five- inning bets might be a new way to go.

Colorado Rockies +110 (win)
Miami rookie Eury Perez kept the ball in the ballpark but the Rockies got to him enough to get the win.

Yu Darvish Over 18.5 Outs +100 (loss)
One out short. That is what happened last night in Washington, everything else played to form in this game.

MLB Picks for Wednesday, May 24

Favorite

San Diego Padres -1.5 (at Washington Nationals)

The Padres won last night behind a solid outing from Darvish and have another advantage on the mound tonight. They also have a massive advantage in the lineup and in the bullpen. See a pattern forming here? The Padres have underperformed but might be finally getting things on track. Now is the time because the premiums are going to go up once they do.

Underdog

Detroit Tigers +100 (at Kansas City Royals)

It does not take much research to learn that both of these teams are bad. Kansas City is pretty unplayable though, especially as a favorite. They do not really win much at home and they are 1-4 as favorites this season. That includes a loss to Detroit as a favorite earlier in the series too. Lefty Matt Boyd of the Tigers is not inspiring but at this stage he is just as reliable as possible Hall of Famer Zach Greinke.

Prop

Bryce Miller Over 6.5 Strikeouts +120

Miller only has four MLB starts to his name but so far the results have been great. That includes his debut against Oakland when he struck out 10 A's. Since then he has not passed this threshold but that is why we are getting the nice payoff. The Mariners are -300 so you can't really play that but this is another way they can dominate.
