MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 6/15

Thank you, Josiah Gray, for keeping up the long line of pitching greatness with the Washington Nationals. Now that might be a stretch, but he saved us from a dreaded "oh-fer" last night. There was a little bad luck in there as the Diamondbacks lost in extra innings.

As this is a typical Thursday we are getting a lighter schedule with some travel and day games. Seven games is enough to take the plunge tonight though.

Shall we?

Winning Days: 14 of 28

In Review: Wednesday, June 14

Arizona Diamondbacks -135 (loss)
I am still not sure I understand this team so I am going to have to back it with caution in the future, even though an EI loss is hardly a misplay.

Los Angeles Angels +115 (loss)
The Angels kept it close until late in the game. The first 5 might have been the way to go.

Josiah Gray Over 4.5 Strikeouts +110 (win)
Kudos to the Nats for letting him pitch. That is the only way they are going to learn. I was worried they would pull him after giving up 4 runs early.

MLB Picks for Thursday, June 15

Favorite
San Diego Padres -125 (vs. Cleveland Guardians)

The Padres might be turning a corner. They have won five of six and are just a game under .500. At the same time, the Guardians are showing no signs of getting into the race in the AL Central. Ryan Weathers and Logan Allen are a couple of lefties with mediocre numbers so far. Weathers has been hit hard but faces the weaker lineup at home.

Underdog
Chicago White Sox +125 (at Los Angeles Dodgers)

This one is all about White Sox starter Dylan Cease. He has had a rough start to the season but looked better of late, with just 1 ER allowed in each of his last 2 starts. He can dominate when he is on and the White Sox are going to need that tonight. For the Dodgers Michael Grove gets the start. He has an 8.28 ERA this season and in half of his appearances (starting/relieving) he has given up at least 4 runs. He gives the White Sox a great shot.

Prop
MacKenzie Gore Over 5.5 Strikeouts +105

Full disclosure, this was where I looked first after cashing with Gray last night. I got the positive payoff so I am leaning in again. Gore has 80 Ks in 64 innings so clearly he can get some whiffs. He also has better numbers on the road and has cleared this number in 6 of his last 10 starts. I thought I would have to pay -110 for this prop so it was an easy hit.
