MLB HR props for Tuesday 8/15: Ryan Mountcastle has the hot hand

It's a beautiful day for dingers in MLB. Friendly weather and strong winds are creating some juicy opportunities for home runs, so let's take advantage with my three favorite HR props for Tuesday's slate.

Matt McLain (+475 DraftKings)

Tuesday's matchup between the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Guardians looks to be a gold mine for dingers. The strong wind blowing out to left center and the friendly hitter's park at Great American Ballpark are creating a projected 41 percent boost to home runs (Ballpark Pal), which is the highest boost I've seen in weeks. Left-hander Logan Allen gets the start for Cleveland, and Matt McLain leads the Reds in batting average (.333), slugging percentage (.628), and OPS (1.009) against lefties this season. This is a perfect day for McLain to strike.

Marcus Semien (+370 FanDuel)

Lucas Giolito hasn't been able to keep the ball in the yard all year. The Los Angeles Angels starter has allowed 25 home runs in 24 starts, and he's surrendered multiple homers in two of his three starts with his new team. Marcus Semien is batting .353 with four homers in his last 51 at-bats, and he's hit 17 of his 19 homers this season off right-handed pitching.

Ryan Mountcastle (+480 FD)

There aren't many hitters in MLB seeing the ball better than Ryan Mountcastle right now. The Baltimore Orioles first baseman is batting .435 with a 1.118 OPS and two home runs over the last 15 days, and he's hit safely in 14 of his last 15. In 15 career at-bats against San Diego Padres starter Michael Wacha, Mountcastle is batting .400 with a triple and two homers. Let's ride the hot hand here.
