Friday’s focus has been all about players and teams exchanging arbitration salary figures and looking for ways to find an agreement for the upcoming season.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that free agency is taking a back seat, for there are plenty of stars that have yet to find new homes this winter.

In addition to that, there are several teams with needs that have still yet to be addressed.

Gary Sanchez is the top catcher still available on the free agent market.

This afternoon, Jon Morosi stopped by MLB Network to discuss the market for the veteran catcher and which teams could benefit from him.

Morosi mentioned the San Francisco Giants as a possibility, citing that the team may still be a little unsure about Joey Bart.

The retirement of Buster Posey created a hole at the catcher position.

While Bart is seemingly the heir apparent, the Giants could look for a little more certainty at that position.

Sanchez also can provide power at the plate.

The Kansas City Royals were also mentioned as a possibility, with the idea that MJ Melendez could be moved into a utility role, while the team manages Salvador Perez’s workload.

Another possibility Morosi brough up is the Los Angeles Angels.

The Halos do have Max Stassi and Matt Thaiss as their internal options.

They have been busy this offseason, but Sanchez provides a little bit of an extra offensive boost at the catcher position.

Free agency is winding down with spring training fast approaching.
