This is one in a series of daily articles highlighting the latest news and notes from the MLB offseason.

Corey Kluber announced on Instagram that he is retiring from Major League Baseball after a 13-year career.

The right-hander won a pair of Cy Young while with the then-Cleveland Indians. The first came in 2014 and he won his second three years later.

The pair of awards highlighted a terrific run with Cleveland. Kluber spent nine years in the major leagues with the team and compiled a 98-58 record with a 3.16 ERA across 208 appearances. In the 2016 World Series, Kluber started three games in the seven-game stretch and posted an impressive 2.81 ERA.

He was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round of the 2007 draft but was dealt to Cleveland in 2010.

His tenure in Cleveland came to an end during the 2019-20 MLB offseason when he was traded to the Texas Rangers for a pair of players, including All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase.

In addition to Cleveland and Texas, Kluber pitched for the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays before finishing his career with the Boston Red Sox last season.
