MLB parlay picks for Sat. 7/16: Cash in with this expert's +582 parlay

Due to popular demand, we're adding an article at Oddschecker that consists of two parlays. I'm going to add two different parlays, one being a moneyline parlay and the other being a totals parlay in the MLB daily. You can always mix and match these parlays where you see the value! Head to the Oddschecker MLB Odds grid to see complete odds for every game today on the board.

MLB Moneyline Parlay Picks (+290) (Bet $100 to win $290)

  • Mariners (-145)
  • Padres (-190)
  • Dodgers (-195)

Josh Hader blew our +305 moneyline parlay with a three-run lead in the ninth. I can't even be mad at that. Who would've thought Hader would allow six runs in the bottom of the ninth with a three-run lead? Wild stuff. Ya gotta love baseball!

Logan Gilbert will take the mound for the Mariners. He's already got 10 wins under his belt and will look for his 11th taking on seven left-handed batters in the Texas Rangers lineup. In the last 30 days, Gilbert has been much worse against righties. Meanwhile, the Rangers will pitch Spencer Howard, who has very low strikeout numbers and a very high xFIP. Take the Mariners. They've been hot.

The Padres will get the chance to slug off against Tyler Gilbert of the Diamondbacks. Like Howard, the lefty has an xFIP of nearly 7 in the last 30 days and has a very low strikeout rate. The Padres will be able to hit line drives and fly balls against Gilbert that could leave the ballpark. With Sean Manaea on the mound, the Padres will win this one.

The Angels likely won't have Mike Trout tonight as he's dealing with a back injury. Without Trout, the Angels' lineup looks abysmal against lefties. Julio Urias will take the mound for the Dodgers and should be able to cruise through this pathetic lineup. Meanwhile, the Dodgers have smacked lefties with elevated ISO and wOBA numbers in the last 30 days against them. Jose Suarez will take the mound for the Angels tonight, and he has had a 4.68 xFIP in the last 30 days. Back the Dodgers.

MLB Total Runs Parlay Picks (+582) (Bet $100 to win $582)

  • Reds vs. Cardinals Under 8.5 (-115)
  • Pirates vs. Rockies Over 12 (-105)
  • Diamondbacks vs. Padres Over 7.5 (-115)

The Reds will send out Nick Lodolo, who has just been extremely unlucky since returning to the diamond this season. He's allowing 46% of balls batted into play to become hits. That's not going to be sustainable for hitters against Lodolo. Meanwhile, Lodolo is earning over 30% of strikeouts and should be able to squeeze by this underwhelming Cardinals lineup. On the other hand, Miles Mikolas will take on an even more underwhelming Reds lineup. I love the under here.

Jose Urena has been very sneaky since returning to the diamond. But I'm not ready to give up on fading Urena. He still has a 5.95 xFIP in the last 30 days with 9.4% of strikeouts and 11.3% of walks. He's not pitching well at all. Meanwhile, Mitch Keller will take the mound for the Pirates while allowing 48.2% of hard contact in the last 30 days. I'm gladly going to ride the over here.

I already talked about the Padres and how well they'll hit Gilbert. They might be able to score eight runs alone tonight. But also, Sean Manaea will likely give up a couple of his own runs. He's a lefty who struggles against righties and will face mostly right-handed batters. Manaea is much better than Gilbert, but he'll give up some runs too. Take the over in this one.
