MLB strikeout props for 5/7: Fade Dodgers' Yamamoto vs. Marlins

That's how you start the week off right! We went 3-0 in strikeout props on Monday with two sweat-free winners, and we're looking to keep the momentum rolling. Here are our three favorite K props for Tuesday's MLB slate.

Jose Berrios under 5.5 Ks (-125 FanDuel)

Blue Jays at Phillies, 6:40 p.m. ET

Jose Berrios hasn't been his typical self this year. The Toronto Blue Jays starter has an 18.3 percent strikeout rate, a 20.1 percent whiff rate, a 28.5 percent chase rate and a 65.2 percent chase contact rate; those are all on pace to be his worst marks since his rookie season in 2016. In 94 combined plate appearances against Berrios, current Philadelphia Phillies hitters are batting .326 with a 13.8 percent K rate. The Phils have also been mashing the ball of late, so they have a good chance to chase Berrios early.

Kyle Harrison over 5.5 Ks (-105 DraftKings)

Giants at Rockies, 8:40 p.m. ET

This is a great matchup for Kyle Harrison to rack up some strikeouts. The Colorado Rockies rank 29th in MLB in strikeout rate, whiff rate, chase rate and chase contact rate. Harrison recorded at least seven strikeouts in all three starts against similar statistical teams this season, but he went under 5.5 Ks in all four starts against top-10 teams in terms of strikeout rate. The left-hander has been matchup-dependent this year, and you can't find a much easier matchup than the Rockies.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto under 6.5 Ks (-122 FD)

Marlins at Dodgers, 10:10 p.m. ET

The Miami Marlins don't have many strengths, but one of them is avoiding strikeouts. Miami is an aggressive lineup that ranks first in MLB in swing rate and sixth in strikeout rate, meaning it consistently puts the ball in play and tries to avoid two-strike counts. Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been lights out for the Los Angeles Dodgers since his disastrous debut, but he's gone over 6.5 Ks only three times in seven starts. He'll have a tough time forcing swings and misses in this matchup.
