Nelson Cruz returning to Twins on one-year, $13 million deal
At 40 years old, Nelson Cruz isn't ready to call it quits just yet.
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, Cruz agreed to a one-year, $13 million deal with the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Cruz has spent the last two seasons in Minnesota after stints with the Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers.
During the pandemic-shortened campaign, the Dominican native slashed .303/.397/.595 with 16 home runs and 33 RBI. In two seasons with Minnesota, Cruz has a .308/.394/.626 slash line with 57 homers and 141 RBI. He finished ninth in MVP voting in 2019 and sixth in voting last season.
Cruz is a six-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger and was named ALCS MVP in 2011.
