Andre Lipcius has had a whirlwind week of spring training. On Monday, the Dodgers acquired him from the Detroit Tigers for cash, and on Tuesday, he was meeting his new teammates at Camelback Ranch.

The Tigers designated the infielder for assignment and he could hardly contain his excitement when speaking to SportsNet LA on Tuesday.

"I was ecstatic. You guys are known to be the best organization in baseball and I was stoked to get over here."

He was drafted by the Tigers in the third round in 2019 out of Tennessee and has spent four seasons in the organization, hitting a combined .266 with 88 doubles, 38 homers and 212 RBI.

Lipcius hit .286 with a double and a home run in 13 games for the Tigers last season.

"Seeing these guys and some of the names that are here is crazy for me. Watching them over the years and it's really cool seeing how they go about their work. It's really nice to be here."

The 25-year-old is ready to do whatever the Dodgers ask of him, even if that means starting the year in Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With the signing of Lipcius, the Dodgers added him to the 40-man roster and moved Clayton Kershaw to the 60-day injured list.
