Major League Baseball recently released the results of the first wave of All-Star voting, and the Braves were well represented.

The top vote-getter in the entire league right now is Ronald Acuña Jr. He’s already received more than one million votes, over 100,000 more than the next closest player, Shohei Ohtani.

Two other Braves–Sean Murphy and Orlando Arcia–also lead their respective positions. Murphy was to be expected when the season started. Arcia, on the other hand, has come out of nowhere and been one of the best shortstops in baseball through the first two-plus months. Prior to the season, most didn’t even expect Arcia to be starting, but he won the job out of Spring Training has been incredible, accruing 1.9 bWAR thanks to a .326 average and .855 OPS.

The Braves also have a couple of players in second at their respective positions. Ozzie Albies is trailing Luis Arraez at second base, while Austin Riley is just behind Nolan Arrenado at third base.

Another thing worth noting is Michael Harris, who has been mired in a season-long slump and has no business making the All-Star Game, is currently seventh among all outfielders. That’s important because the top six outfielders will go to Phase 2 of the voting, where the All-Star starters will eventually be decided.

As I said, Harris has no business even being in the conversation, but fan voting is stupid. As long as they are going to allow fans to vote five times a day, Braves fans might as well take advantage. How comical would it be if Michael Harris was named an All-Star starter after not even hitting .200?

For those interested in making that happen, follow this link and vote up to five times a day!
