Officials: COVID-19 vaccine had no role in death of Hank Aaron

According to Adrianne M Haney of Atlanta television station 11Alive (h/t KSDK), the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that it appears Atlanta Braves and MLB legend Hank Aaron died of natural causes. 

Aaron passed away last week in his sleep at the age of 86 and had previously received a COVID-19 vaccine to help promote the shot's safety to Black Americans. Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young, who received the vaccine with Aaron, said that "Hammerin' Hank" experienced no negative reaction to the shot. It's assumed the vaccine played no role in Aaron's death. 

"I talked to the fella who was his driver, and I said, 'was Hank feeling any discomfort or any problem over the last few days?' and he said, 'no, he wanted to keep his schedule,'" Young explained. 

Aaron endured racist threats and unspeakable acts of hate as he chased and eventually set the all-time home-run record that has since been toppled by Barry Bonds, and the Hall of Famer was also a civil rights activist and icon throughout his lifetime.

"I don't have any qualms about it at all, you know," Aaron told The Associated Press after he received the coronavirus vaccine. "I feel quite proud of myself for doing something like this. ... It's just a small thing that can help zillions of people in this country.''
