The Milwaukee Brewers dropped their opening game against the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 6-2.  An error in the sixth inning proved to be costly as LA put up five runs during that frame and the Brewers offense was limited to just two hits all night.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers: Sixth inning the difference in a 6-2 ball game.

Adrian Houser ended up taking the loss for the Brewers in this game.  His box score numbers read 5.1 innings pitched, five hits, four runs allowed, three earned runs, and six strikeouts, but he overall pitched quite well.  He worked out of a tough jam in the fourth inning after Brice Turang was unable to handle a pair of tough ground balls and his six strikeouts were a result of him working the corners of the plate.

Unfortunately things got hairy in the sixth inning.  After recording one out he got Will Smith to hit a ground ball to third base but the throw from Andruw Monasterio was high resulting in the runner being safe.  Chaos ensued as a J.D. Martinez double resulted in Craig Counsell bringing Hoby Milner in from the bullpen.

Hoby Milner went on to allow three base hits and three runners scored.  Bryse Wilson then replaced him who also gave up a RBI base knock before recording the final out of the inning.  Wilson ended up finishing the game for Milwaukee, but unfortunately just Christian Yelich (single) and Carlos Sananta (home run) had hits.

Game two of the Brewers vs Dodgers series will be on Wednesday, August 16 with the first pitch schedule for 9:10 PM CT.  Southpaws Wade Miley and Clayton Kershaw will match up in that game.
