The Chicago White Sox made their first round of Spring Training roster cuts on Friday. Twelve players, including outfielder Oscar Colas, were assigned to an affiliate club or minor-league camp.

Colas headlines the group as he made the team out of camp and was the Opening Day right fielder last season. After a rough rookie campaign that included multiple demotions to the minors, Colas will start the 2024 season with Triple-A Charlotte. Infielder Jose Rodriguez and pitchers Davis Martin and Sammy Peralta will also join the Knights.

Left-hander Jake Eder, who came to the White Sox in the Jake Burger trade last season, will continue his development with Double-A Birmingham. Righty Josimar Cousin will also join the Barons.

Finally, the White Sox assigned six players to minor-league camp. Pitchers Ky Bush, Fraser Ellard, Edgar Navarro, and Lane Ramsey along with catchers Adam Hackenberg and Edgar Quero are among that group. Quero, a key piece of last season's trade that sent Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez to the Los Angeles Angels, will continue his development while veterans Martin Maldonado and Max Stassi hold down catching duties at the big-league level.

After Friday's transactions, the White Sox have 58 players remaining on their Spring Training roster.
